    Hey all,

I have been following a couple of threads dealing with the 50 Beowolf and the 458 SOCOM and was woundering, since the 50 Beowolf base is the same as the 7.62x39 and OAL is about the same, has anyone done up an AK to use this cartridge? :scrutiny:If a 40rnd AR mag holds 15 than a 30rnd AK mag may also and a 40rnd might hold 20.:D

I guess it's a nice "what the heck, why not" idea, but I don't see much of a point when the Saiga-12 is already extant. Tosses bigger pills, cost per round is much lower and there's no difficulty in finding ammo locally...
Yeah, mag capacity is less and they cost quite a bit more than 7.62x39 mags, but being that a custom .50B AK would probably run one $1500 or better, it'd probably end up being a wash either way :)

I dont really see a point to it, other than as a novelty. Not that there is anything wrong with novelty... :D I just think you'd have to spend alot of money to have the thing custom made from the ground up.

Very true but it is sort of a novelty in ARs so why not in an AK? And as with the ARs a 300grn projectile at better volocity than a 45-70...in a semiauto...:D
