.50 BMG Pistols?

the thunder 535 was designed as a prototype. it was not developed to demonstate their recoil system. which in fact, uses a nitrogen gas system. the company couldnt bring the manufacuring price of the gun down, so it never made it to production. there are about 25 of them in existence. i fiddled with one at a gun show in texas 5 years ago, a very lightweight gun... considering its almost complete titanium construction. its actualy lighter than a smith 500.

as for the comments asking why you would need a hand gun that big... have any of you ever shot a smith 500 with 440 grain rounds? its fun as all hell... its easily my favorite gun in my entire collection, even above my amt's. i can only imagine how fun a bmg pistol would be! you shoot a frozen turkey with a 320 gain hollow point smith 500 and it does serious damage... but a 50 bmg?!?!? i would pay out the ass to fire just one round!!!

DEER HUNTER-You wrote, "And why would you want information on a .50 BMG pistol? What kind of situation would you have to be in to ever possibly want to use a .50 BMG in a pistol form?"

Hey, if you're as myopic as I am, I wouldn't even have to hit the SOB! The muzzle blast alone ALONE would do him in!

I'm sorry! I couldn't help mysely! I agree with you. What in all of God's creation would you want with a pistol like this? Imagine "sighting in" the thing. Assuming you survived it, I freakin' DARE anyone to have the nerve to actually drop the hammer on someone. The "flinch" would be off the charts! Like the .45-70 "derringer". The owner's manual reads to NOT shoot it one handed due to the PROBABILITY of injury.

This is the THIRD time this thread has been resurrected!!!!

That has to be some kind of record. Somebody do it again in 2012.:D:D

On topic:

I will not shoot any of the pistols in this thread. I'm just crazy like that.
I'll have to keep this around for those "Which caliber for bear?" threads. LOL
