    Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum so please bare with me. I recently bought a PEDERSOLI Jaeger flintlock and want to shoot conicals in it, any one have a good choice, weight etc.? Thanks.

    knowing the twist rate would give us a clue as to what to suggest you use.

    Most any, but the heavier the better.

    With that fast twist barrel, a wide variety of conical bullets can be fired when combined with the appropriate .54 sabot.
    Lighter weight bullets in the 240 - 300 grain range will produce less felt recoil, especially useful if only shooting at paper targets.
    They're also very effective for hunting but swabbing between shots is often necessary.
    .54 sabots are made to fit the following bullet sizes:
    .429-.430, .451-.452, & .50
    And the lighter weight saboted bullets can often shoot very accurately.

    Plus there's also the easier loading 3Petal-EZ sabots and the plastic skirted Powerbelt bullets.

    The Hornady .54 Great Plains Bullets are known for good accuracy but can also be hard to load due to being a tight fit.
    Since they weigh 425 grains they tend to produce more thump on both ends.
