Shooting my Pietta '58 Remington this afternoon, noticed when placed on half-cock the trigger would go too far forward making it difficult to pull hammer back to full-cock. Came home & stripped the gun down.....what should I be looking for as to what is causing this? Trigger looks ok, as do the full & half-cock notches.

I re-examined the trigger & the hammer & all looked right. However, there was a bright spot on the end of the long leg of the trigger/bolt spring, & it seemed to have been tweaked a bit at the tip. When I reinstalled it & tightened the screw it jumped off the trigger, so I re-tweaked & straighted the spring just a tad & it's working ok again. I'm assuming the spring is showing fatigue, so I'll order in a replacement, as I suspect the symptoms will reoccur again eventually.
