Just out of curiosity. What size primers do they use for 6.8 SPC brass?

I read somewhere that some brass have small pockets and some large.

I'm confused!

Depends on the brass. Originally it was large rifle by Remington. Silver State Armory made theirs with small rifle primers which is supposed to give some ability to gain a little edge in velocity. Now Silver State makes both while, AFAIK Remington only makes them for large rifle primers. Not sure about Hornady. Edited - actually I just remembered that I picked up two boxes of Hornady V-MAX at a gun show to compare with my handloads. Just looked at one of them and they have small primers.

I've only used Remington brass, so all of mine are large rifle primers.

420 hit the nail on the head

SSA uses Small and Large primers
Remington uses Large
Hornady uses small

I have a little of each of the above and it makes sorting a must and I just load up what ever I have the most primers for.

I have not noticed a difference over the chrono with small or large rifle primers with the exact same load up of powder and bullets.
