The little Rossi 462 is a 6 shot .357 magnum snubby.

My Smith & Wesson 627 8-shot snubby is my EDC. I love it! It has the best revolver trigger I've ever experienced in 40+ years of gun handling.

2 3/4" Security Six, Speed Six, Service six, Detective Special, Cobra, Agent, alas most out of print and prices going through the ceiling.

If Colt really wants the gun buying public back in their corner, they might think about bringing back some of those fine old revolvers (and the woodsman).

There's plenty of Colts out there.Among them...Python, King Cobra, Diamondback, and the ones in this pic:

Cobra, Agent, Detective Special, and MK III Lawman...FWIW, the Cobra, Agent, and Detective Special are basically the same gun. The difference is the first two have an aluminum frame, while the latter has a steel frame.

Since you didn't specify caliber, the S&W .32 H&R mag and .327 J-frames are six shot. My wife has a Model 431 that I like quite a bit.

So's the SP101 in that caliber and, if you can find one, the SP101 in .22LR. Also, the little .22 J frames from Smith and my Rossi 511 if ya wanna toss out any caliber. Some of the J frame guns in .22 come in 9 or 10 shot versions. If you're going to carry 'em for defense, you might need the firepower.

These are all 6 shot snubbies, two in 38 and one in 45scp. The Detective Special and the Model 12 serve as BUGs for the most part.

I'd buy a new Colt snubby in a hurry, I LOVE my Magnum Carry. I haven't found the 'right' Detective Special yet, but I always have my eyes open.

    I wasn't aware Rossi had a 6 shot model.

I found the "right" Detective Special when I purchased this one new in 1971. :)

I honestly don't remember exactly what I paid for it, but $80 has to be close. I bought a 4" Diamondback around the same time and remember paying about $90 for it and it was more than the Detective Special.

Yep, Jim Badger made them and cut the left panel for speedloader clearance.

Charter Arms' Police Undercover is a current production 6-shot in .38. Quite a few places also make 6-shot snubs in .327 federal.

    S&W Model 10s are 6 shot (including the 2")

The 2" isn't available from S&W anymore, but there are plenty of them out there.
