Okay, I have approximately $600.00-$700.00 to spend on a new or used gun. For the first time, I don't know what I want.

I have most of the bases covered. So just throw some things out there and help me get intrigued.

Little more info on what you prefer?

Polymer vs. Metal framed...
DA vs. SA vs. DA/SA...
Compact vs. Full size...
Caliber...

Taking a total shot in the dark with this suggestion... but I just bought a Sig Pro SP2022 9mm, and am totally in love with it. It's definitely one of the best kept secrets of Sig's line-up, and is totally worth the $400-450 you can find them for. 15+1 capacity, DA/SA, fairly light weight and compact for a full size gun, interchangeable grips, night sights, all around a great gun for the price.

For $600 you can get just about anything though... so have fun with your decision lol

Pick up a Glock and use the rest for ammo or reloading components.

Or a holster and sights or whatever...

Anyway, if you don't own one, the Glock is a fine pistol.

Sorry, not a Glock fan. Nothing wrong with them, just can't get used to the grip angle.

This will not be a concealed carry or home defense gun. I have those basis covered. Nor will it be a hiking gun. I have that base covered. My collection covers just about every base, hence my dilemma. However, it is my habit to buy at least one gun a year on principal. I wouldn't want to let that slip :)

Here's another vote for Reloading.

I positively love it. You get to enjoy the hobby on both ends, preparing ammo and using ammo.

In fact I like it so much, I'm starting to wonder if I shoot just so I can reload. :scrutiny:

Sure. I said that too.
But when someone actually nudged me towards reloading ... it was the choice that lets me shoot more ultimately.

Well, things I'd look for with that much cash:
.357 Magnum 3" S&W Model 65
.45LC SSA clone
9mm Browning Hi-Power
.380 Walther PPK

Reloading stuff

That's my next purchase. You can do it for under $600 easy. I plan on starting out with a single stage just to save money. For $600, with the info I've gathered here I could have a complete single stage setup along with alot of components to crank out a few batches of 223 and 45.

How bout buying a Lorcin .380 to round out your collection? With the rest of the $600, you can have it gold plated. :)

Calico 9mm Liberty III pistol! (or a cheaper .22 101) :D

if the bases are covered it's time to start collecting "different" stuff

Don't forget the crank mag loader, I can't imagine having to hand feed a 100 round helical mag.
