I shot a new to me 625-4 today. I shot six different loads I had with 4 different powders and 5 different bullets.

WST & Berry's 200 HP -- N310 & X-treme 225 Gr. TrFP -- AA# 2 & Berry's 185 Gr. RNHB

Zip & Hornady 230 Gr. TrFP -- WST & Berry's 185 Gr. SWC -- Zip & Berry's 200 Gr. HP

All the loads had WLP primers. The previous owner had told me the gun needed Fed primers. All the rounds would shoot single action, but only sometimes double action. I had some HUGE ES & SD's.

Example-- Hi - 862 / Lo - 525 / Avg - 769 / ES - 337 / SD - 122 :what:

This was the 225 X-Treme bullets and they shot real well. Lord knows what they could do with Fed primers.

The Berry's 185 Gr. RNHB, the Berry's 185 Gr. SWC, and the 225 Gr. X-Treme bullets shot real well. I shot some pins at 30+ yards with the 185 SWC with great success. :)

I can't wait to fine tune this baby. :D

That looks like a great 625. I like the fiber optic front sight.

Let us know how the fine tuning goes.

200 grain lead SWC with 5.6 grains of 231 and winchester primers should give you one hole groups.

I shot 5.5 Grs. W231 with any 225/230 gr lead bullet and nothing else in my 1911's for years. That was mostly Fed primers. :)

I own 3 25s and all shoot like tack drivers with the load I just posted. It is mild and the swc cuts a perfect circle for competition. I use little else but 231.
