With the recent announcement of another revolver that I don't need, I could use some sound advice.

I own a Mountain Gun in .41 mag. I own a 686+ in 3". So I know what I am looking at from a frame and weight standpoint if I opt for that new Mountain Gun from Lipsey's. What I have no clue about, but am very interested in, is the model 627. 8 rounds, 2.5" barrel, put out by the performance center. On paper the Mountain Gun is a little lighter with a longer barrel, but I am trying to be objective. The 627 seems like a great packing/hiking option.

The msrp on both of these are about the same. Any and all information to give me some direction in this matter would be appreciated.

I have a 327 Night Guard. It’s my favorite revolver.

If I were you I would read reviews on both models that you are interested in and go from there.
Interesting comments on Bud’s site:

Another plus for me on the mountain gun side is no Hillary hole i detest those as it's a reminder of S&W's bending of the knee to the Clintons.

I’m a sucker for the 627 Pro Series. I owned one several years ago and wish I’d not let it go. I prefer N-frames like that but I’m also quite interested in the latest MG offerings, particularly in .357.

I want both of these. Almost got the 627 but the store screwed me and sold it or it was bait n switch. Showed 5 in stock. “Oh that means we can get one”. That means the distributor had five.
