Got the 5” 629 in, and she cleaned up NICE with the RemWax! Best stuff since sliced bread! I put on a Target Wood grip, but I didn’t like it. So I put the factory rubbers back. Feels SO NICE!

can’t want to put some light .44 Specsl Loads through it. Just like Dirty Harry

Mark Mark ,
Why light 44 Special loads it’s a 629, you need to load 44 magnum with a 180 grain Hornady XTP and 29.2 grains of H110/ W296 light it up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it’s a line from dirty hairy movie back in the 80s

Beautiful gun Mark, but you really need to shoot some 44 Mags in it. I have the model 29 with a 6" barrel. One of my favorite revolvers. Bought it around 2001 at a gun show in San Antonio $400.00. Those days are gone. I couldn't tell you how many thousands of rounds I've put through it. You'll enjoy yours.

Dirty Harry was 1971

I will! I’m planing to carry it in the woods here in The Pacific Northwest. So it had to be a hot .44 Mag load

That came out GREAT!

A 5" 29/629 makes just about the perfect outdoors gun. I agree about the animals up near Yellowstone. My son is going to college near there and when we drive around in the forest I am amazed at how big the deer and elk are.

Have fun with that awesome shooter.

I've got the 6.5" version and love it, but if I could only have one handgun, I think it would be the 5" you have. 🤩

Lookin' good Billy Rae...it's a hellofa stopping handgun for back country use....Chest carry will lighten the load considerably, and still allow you access when you need it in a hurry...but then you already knew that....My 5" 629, is mostly a range gun now that I'm in my geezer-hood and I need it like another hole the head, but it still gets some exercise in our side meadow,,,,and also when covered up inside my walking the dog barn coat in the holster I've posted before (OWB Tom Threepersons)....if only to relive those days when I had the legs & lungs for treks in the high country.
Best regards, and congrats on what appears to be a fine example....look fwd to some posted range tests. Rod...awe, hell...here's the pic again...
