6x45 and 6mm TCU

Essentially the same thing, same case; 223 Remington, necked up to 6MM. Possibly minor differences in neck length or shoulder angle after fire forming.
I was looking for a 6-TCU in the early '80s and couldn't find one and ended up with a 6 X 47. Longer neck and slightly larger powder capacity. Still got it and use it on varmints and game up to Mule deer size. It is a Contender 14" heavy barrel, custom built by a long gone gunsmith.

I have both a 6x45 (Ruger Mini-14) and a 6mm TCU (10" Contender). Very similar. Both based on the .223 Rem case. The TCU has a sort of "Ackley Improved' shape. Shoulder moved forward, case taper reduced, sharper shoulder angle. The 6x45 has a plain-Jane .223 Rem shape, with just the neck increased to 6mm. Probably some other minor differences. I think I have some dimensioned JPG drawings somewhere.
