Does anyone know where to get any 7.5 MAS ammo. The only place I have found it is at Aimsurplus and was trying to find other brands.

7.5 French has always been spotty. Try looking in the importers catalogs: Century Arms, etc. Also, you may find small lots in the fine print of Shotgun News.

As an aside, about 15 years ago I bought a case of 7.5 French when I saw it come out onto the market - before any MAS 49s were widely available! I figured they would follow soon. I was right, a year later I picked up my MAS 49/56.

I have heard that you can form your own 7.5 brass out of another cartridge case, but I do not know which.

There is a Portugese company that I believe made some 7.5 MAS ammo.

Linky, Surplusrifle. I fixed a typo (I think), I assume they mean 6.5 Swede and not 6.6 Swede.

Contact Graf's----they have loaded ammo and new brass cases for the 7.5 MAS.

Have 2 49/56's-----very cool guns----even if they were dropped once.

Be very carefull selecting 6.5x55 brass to convert to 7.5x54, in the past few years domestic manufacturers have gotten lazy and started producing 6.5swede brass that has a 30-06 sized case head. Using this brass would result in having a case head drastically undersized for 7.5mas.

I see 0.483 for French and 0.470 for the ".470 family" rounds. Is that enough to actually cause a major problem?

With the Swede at .480 it's enough to cause very short brass life in my Swedish rifles with full power loads. My Grafs 7.5MAS brass mikes 0.484.

In my opinion you would be pressing your luck with 06 sized swede brass. Besides Grafs 7.5x54 brass is just a couple of dollars more than 6.5x55 brass.
