In regard to 7.62 x 39 AR-15 bolts, with the exception of the firing pin, are the bolt components the same/identical as the .223/5.56 AR-15 bolt components? If not, what other bolt parts are different?

I'm pretty sure the extractor is different to match the larger case base diameter, obviously the bolt is different. The firing pin is actually the same although you do get better ignition with a 7.62x39 "enhanced" firing pin where the protrusion is increased bit. Carrier, gas rings, cam pin, extractor spring & pin, ejector all seem the same as for 5.56.

223 extractor can be used on 7.62x39 as well. Early 7.62x39 bolts have 223 extractors, some may still use 223 extractors, hard to say.

As was stated the 7.62x39 cartridge is larger at the base than the .223/5.56, so the area on the bolt face is machined out to fit the larger case. This leaves the bolt face "ring of steel" (Remington ads anyone?) a bit thin. The rest of the carrier set up looks the same as my 5.56 guns.

I bought a complete upper in 7.62x39 and I built a lower to use exclusively with the 7.62x39. I added a stronger than standard firing pin spring from Wolff and I bought a slightly longer firing pin from Black Rifle Arms. The trigger pull is a bit heavier than on my "normal" AR's (I don't have a gauge but it feels heavier), but I guess that's to be expected with the heavier trigger spring. I use 10-round C-products mags. (I'm in CA and this isn't on a "registered" assault rifle so I am stuck with 10's). SOOO far, 100% reliability through about 400-odd rounds of various steel cased and brass cased makes, and the gun thwacks my steel plates with a bit more oomph than the 5.56 55-62 gr fmj's I usually use.

I also bought a separate bolt to keep in my tool box in case a lug shears off the original one. (Like I said it looks a bit thin). There is a maker (CMMG I believe) who makes a mid-sized gun with a slightly scaled down AR-10 bolt for the 7.62x39 (Power bolt) rather than the machined out 5.56. They aren't compatible with regular uppers, but I can fathom a guess that they will last longer due to the increased steel.

They are the same in concept but different dimensions.
Ejector spring and plunger is the same.
The extractor is different. Armalite sells very nice extractors for this caliber. The spring and o-ring are the same.
The fining pin might be different or the same firing pin with 10-20 thousands cut in the back if one is going to shoot
russinan steel ammo. If you shoot western brass ammo then you are ok with the normal protrusion.
AR15performance and Young make some very nice bolts beefed up so they are stronger than the average on the lugs.
These cost a tad more but they do not break like el cheapo Model 1 and such.
There are other designs even stronger that require their own barrel extension. AR15performance has a new design
with these extensions. Everything they do is heavy duty & pretty good quality stuff.
LMT and LWRC also have nice bolts.
