I'm not having much luck finding bullets for the 7.62X54R, but I do see 7.62X39. The difference is 0.001" smaller for the 39. Is it feasible to substitute? Or should I have the rifle barrels measured diameter measured first? One is a Russian 91/30 and the other is a Finnish Sako. Thanks.

I like the 180 gr Sierra soft point in .311"

I slugged both my M38s and they both came out to .313, but I did try .308 bullets in them anyway, and they actually shoot very well, grouping inside 2" with a red dot at 50yds. Try the .308s if you have some lying around. It might be worth a try. If .308 bullets work out, all the better since there's so many different .308 bullets out there compared to .310 and .311.

"...they both came out to .313..." .311" bullets will work better. 5 thou is a fair bit of difference. They may be advertised as bullets for the .303 British.
