Anyone tried the new Wolf 153 gr. 7.62x39? I picked up some recently but haven't tried it out of an AK-47. Looks like it could redefine the AK, if it works that is.

I have shot both the Wolf 122 gr FMJ and 154 gr SP 7.62x39 out of my Yugo SKS. Both worked flawlessly. Recoil was roughly the same. Accuracy (or what passes for accuracy from my SKS) was slightly better for the FMJ.

If you wanted to use your SKS or AK for deer hunting, I think this load would be the cat's PJs. Just about as close to a .30-30 load as you can get in the 7.62R.

I've read about guys getting 1.5-2MOA out of SKS and AK variants with reloads.

I'm still no big fan of the 7.62x39, but its still a good deer caliber.

I've seen what My 123gr HP can do.:what:
