Well I'm new at this hunting thing folks as if you couldn't figure so be patient.
I just thought it would be neat to get some opinions from the board.

My new pair of Steiner Safari 8x30 poro's are on the way from a shop in Germany and I should have them this week. The predators were a little too gimmicky for my taste so I didn't get those.

I know many would say that a 30mm objective lens isn't good enough for low light conditions and hunting use. I got this binocular for $109 + $35 for FEDEX from Germany. These same optics easily go for $200+ here in the states so I couldn't resist.

I've decided on a new endeavor of wild hog hunting and I'll be using these optics. Aren't some optics better than no optics, esepecially if they're Steiners which don't have a bad reputation even with a 30mm lens?

I've heard so much about how a 40-50mm lens are greatly desired. I can always get another pricier binocular if these aren't to my liking I guess.
What are your experiences with similar glass? Will these 8x30's be sufficient?

howdee, i have a pair of 8x30 stieners & a pair of 10 x 40 ziess binos. i use the 8x30 90% of time thier great for all but the most wide open spaces. i use the 10x40s only when in wyoming or montana when its a long way to anything. 187

8X30s are a great choice and a very usable set of binos.
