92 series mags

Unfortunately, 92S and PT92AF mags don't interchange. The 92S release cut is at the lower rear part of the magazine. The PT92AF release cut is up on the front of the body of the magazine. I suppose you could get mags for one or the other and carefully add the cut for the other.

20 plus years making chips if they don’t have the cut that’s okay too. I will make it.

These are Taurus factory mags 36 bucks. For that I will buy PB mags and notch them bigger. They work better and have the 92s cut and the af notch. Which just needs to be bigger for the pt92.

Beretta is running a sale on 92FS mags, and CDNN usually has good deals on mags.

I was hoping someone had a favorite line on gi mags I can mod that might bode well. Its only jerry rigging if you can’t hold a tolerance.
I have to disagree on the jerry rigging part. I still have a dozen or so military mags and I much prefer Taurus guns to beretta, so I make the cut then file it down a few strokes at a time until it works. Not exactly holding a tolerance, but it’s far from jerry rigging. 92s can surely allow mags to be marked to make the cut and then finish up with a needle file.

I'm not understanding why you want one magazine to feed both pistols. Buy magazines designed for the pistol in which they're to be used.

Most of us have learned the hard way not to cheap out on pistol magazines -- the chief cause of pistol malfunctions.

Mec-Gar makes superb aftermarket mags (18 and 20 rounders) for both pistols, and they're regularly on sale for low prices at Top Gun Supply, Midway, CLIMAGS, etc.

https://www.brownells.com/magazines...es/beretta-semi-auto-magazines-prod24545.aspx Cant promise but the 15 round mags used to be cut for both releases. The 92S used the lower release as well. 15 round are $24 Brownells has a lot of free shipping promotions this month if you sign up for the emails. According to the question section this currently do not have the lower cut. Easy enough to make if you have another mag to measure.

That’s called filing to fit. Which is not the same as a hack job.

The magazine profiles are identicle at one point the pt and the s used the same heel catch. So in essence if I get the notch in the same I can feed three different guns with one mag. I have a 92s I’m working on paying off a 92AF and my mom has a 92AF.
