I know it’s only .001” but I’m curious haha
Was gonna order some Blue Bullets 147gr FP for 9mm. I noticed their standard size is .355”, but you can special order them in .356” which is the normal lead 9mm size
Any reason to go with one over the other?

I’ve run both, and the .356 obdurate a bit better and give about a 20fps advantage with the same load. I talked to them about this and they said they had reloaders complain about wasp waist and gauging problems with the .356. If you run CBC brass, which has a thick wall, and the .356 it may be a bit big in a Shockbottle.
My P320 doesn’t really care, the chamber will accept either.
You could also slug the barrel to see if one would be better, but my sig slugs at .356 which means I should run a .357. Now what do you do? I don’t get leading with either, so, I still just do .356.

My guns shoot the .356” just fine (the SNS versions at least) so I guess I’ll get the .356” from the Special Order section. I believe they’re the same price just may have a bit of a shipping lag

It likely won't make any difference, but with lead or coated lead the general rule is .001 over jacketed, which in this case is .356.

I never considered that there might be a difference but now that I think about it I should have gone to .453 lead for my P-220. That barrel fouled every time I shot it....a lot.

147gr FP for 9mm
The bevel base seems to help with the case bulge at the bullets base. If you current loading works, stick with it.

Now that I think about it
I’ll just go with the SNS. I already got a tool head for the 550 set up for that bullet and I don’t wanna fiddle with it for the Blue Bullets. Savings is only $10 per K and I don’t gotta re-develop the load or set the dies again
If it ain’t broke…
Just FYI - Blue Bullets has a subscription program that can same some $$ if you want. Bayou Bullets can size to what you want, and, they used to do it for free.
I have dummy rounds made up at the COL I use, for each bullet I use. Then I can adjust the tool head real easy, it’s just resetting the seater die. Most of the powder charges are the same, I shoot for minor PF in 9mm so 130 covers some different bullet types.

I buy the Bayou Bullets 150 gr “9mm” SWC and have it sized .358 for my .38 Specials to shoot.

I formerly bought these bullets marketed for .38’s and sized at .358 from Brazos Bullets. But that seller seemed to be in flux a lot, so I went to Bayou Bullets for my last 1,000 when they started selling them.

Stay safe.

Slug your barrel you may find out what I did with my S&W 929 PC revolver in 9mm . It slugged at .357 as did the cylinder throats so I use MBC 130 grain.357 LRN .
