Is the .9mm Kurz a seperate ammunition by itself or is it just another name for the .380 acp. If it is seperate, where can it be bought, as I have been having trouble finding it.

"Kurz" is just the German word for "short". It just means 9mm short. That is what the Europeans called 380 ACP. They are one and the same. You can actually shoot a 380 ACP round in a 9mm, but I would not recommend it. I did it one time when my wife and I were shooting together and had our ammo laying on the same bench. I accidentally loaded one of her 380 ACP rounds in my magazine along with the rest, which were real 9mm rounds. The only problem that I had was that the brass case was not extracted from the breach. The 380 ACP and 9 mm bullets are the same diameter. 9mm rounds are 19 mm's long and 380 ACP rounds are 17 mm long, hence they are short 9mm's to the Europeans. I hope this helps.

The .380 Auto is also known as the 9mm Corto, along with 9mm Kurz, 9x17mm and 380 acp.

Don't shoot .380's in a 9mm Luger (9x19) chamber. The .380 case is .374" in diameter, and the 9mm Luger is .391" in diameter. I've picked up .380 cases at the range that were obviously fired in a 9x19 chamber, and several have split. When this occurs, the case can't form a gas seal and the gases escape to the rear, where you are...

    Hope this helps.

I have a Sig P232 and it is marked 9mm Kurtz. I have never shot anything in it except 380 acp. It is the same cartridge.
