Decided to do two rifle primers today.
I shot the old Fed 200 (A mild rifle primer. (And actually Federal now calls their small pistol mag primer #200))
I also shot the Winchester WSR (Newer brass colored ones)
I shot a great first group with the Fed 200 primers. The first three were in a wallowed out hole. Nice.
Then I shot he WSR primers. The first 7 were in a group as small or smaller than the first group, then bam, one out in right field (What in the heck?), then another in the group, then I got careless and pulled a couple down finishing up. Sigh, screwed up the second group again.
I stapled the second target on top of the first one to shoot the second group, so here is the first target after all 24 shots.
And here is the backer after two days and 48 rounds. 12 each of Fed 100, WSP, Fed 200, & WSR primers.
Numbers for today: 92 Degrees 52% RH.
Fed 200 Primers (Old ones marked Small Rifle
And High Velocity Pistol)
Hi=832
Lo=808
Avg=816
ES=24
SD=6
Win WSR Primers (Brass colored)
Hi=834
Lo=807
Avg=823
ES=27
SD=7
Numbers are up a tad over the standard small pistol primers. ES & SD good on both.
I need to sort out some same headstamp 9MM brass and load ten each of various "small" primers and go shoot them all at the same time one of these days. That might be interesting. Would need to do both a plinker load and a near full power load. N320/plated and Silhouette/jacketed come to mind.
