A Brass Wolf Confesses

My best brass score happened when our state Department of Corrections leased our private club range for three days, and the good folks gave me a 55 gallon drum full of .223, .38, and .45 once fired cases. They even helped me load it into my truck. All I had to do was lock up the facility after they left.

I have over five gallons each of 9MM, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP. Do I qualify as a "brass wolf?". Have quite a bit of 357 and 38 Special,as well.

The issue with a full 55 gallon drum of brass is one of storage. My solution has been to dole it out in the form of christmas gifts to my shooting friends. After cleaning, polishing, resizing and priming, I place one hundred select pieces in holiday themed plastic bags with small notecards in the shape of either 1911 pistols, AR pattern rifles, or S&W revolvers, depending on the brass selected. I have yet to hear any objections, and have received many other interesting trinkets in kind return.

Would it be considered bad form to hogtie this guy for awhile so I can get some brass?
I mean, I'll let him go....

Eventually.

My teenage daughter came up with the gift idea; she did the graphics for the cards, and prints them on card stock. My son runs the brass through the loaders. I place the pieces in the bags, seal them using a thermo sealing machine, and together we dole it out. It's really just another good avenue to keep young people involved in shooting, and is lots of fun.
