Spent a long day with the chrony and a bunch of my handloads and surplus ball ammo. This was all shot through a very low mileage Rem 760 w/ 22-inch barrel. Chrony 15-feet from the muzzle. All handloads were loaded in the same session. Same OAL. All fired full length sized FC brass from same lot. All M2 surplus 150g FMJ bullets. All Federal match primers. Whats nice to see is brand new IMR4895 and 4064 gives nearly the same performance as 30 and 20 year old cans respectively. The "old can" of Dupont 4895 had been open for about 10 years. The old can of 4064 was opened for this session. 6 shots per round.

Good info! A little higher loads than shooters using M1 Garands should use with 4895 and 4064. Interesting data comparing older powders and new and shows powders properly stored will last a long time. Similiar data that I get from a Rem 742 with a 22" barrel. Nice chart.

I'm not even sure that old open can of 4895 was stored properly! But yet it gave very similar performance as a 2011 can...
