Well it seems we have a couple of masters of paranoia at work here...

I'm no "northerner" by any means and I "get it" loud and clear. I've lived my whole life in San Diego and disagree with the idea that there is a brewing conspiracy by the "Mexicans" to retake the lands of the southwest from us 'Mericans.

It's so patently ridiculous to compare Kosovo to California in regards to the immigration issue that I can only laugh myself into a vomiting fit instead...

    Basura Blanca,

Rather than resorting to name calling (patently NOT The High Road) perhaps you should check the terms "Reconquista" and "Azatlan" through a web search and see how they fit into your assertion that anyone concerned with the continual infiltration of illegal aliens into US territory is somehow a victim of paranoia.

It's real....it's happening. No sense arguing over it. The question is what to do about it.

Are we reading the same post here? Where did Matt say that he shot anybody?

You're a libertarian and you don't realize that you have the authority to perform a citizens arrest on a trespassing illegal alien? Furthermore, your post implies that you expect the govt. to do all the work - not much of a libertarian philisophy if you ask me.

So when terms like "liberal", "liberal troll", "White Trash" (that ain't my username, BTW), "open borders troll" and whatever else might follow are used to describe me, that's ok?

Is that really "the High Road" too?
How about suggesting that border crossers be shot on sight? Is that the High Road?

God forbid I call someone paranoid though...

If you're going to attempt to call me out on making ad homs. (which I didn't do), then I suggest you at least apply it equally.

As for the Reconquista and such, do you really think that groups such as those extremists represent the large part of Latinos, Mexicans or legal or so-called "illegal aliens" overall? C'mon...
Does the Klan represent the views of "most" white folks?

Your argument that "it's happening" is easy to assert from thousands of miles away but I actually live near the border and say it isn't quite so. Most of it is media hype on the same level as "assault weapons".

Can you cite any legal reference for that?

I believe that 4th and 5th amendment issues are raised (or should be) when the vigilante citizen border enforcers start taking the law into their own hands on those they suspect of being so-called "illegal aliens".

What a load of cow excrement that statement is. The Albanians where the majority in kosovo by a large margin. Read some history of the region before you use it as an example.

    http://lamar.colostate.edu/~grjan/kosovohistory.html

The earliest known inhabitants of Kosovo were called Illyrians by both Greeks and Romans. Albanians today claim to be direct descendants of the Illyrians. Serbian scholars claim that Albanians appeared on the scene in the early Middle Ages as a result of intermarriage between nomadic shepherds and unromanized remnants of Illyrians and Dardanians from Thrace.

Basura Blanca--I love the name, by the way, very apt--I don't remember saying that Mexicans coming in illegally want to take over the country. What I KNOW is that they are coming in and are costing American citizens and taxpayer an unholy bundle. That's not "paranoia," that's fact, my friend, and you should know it perfectly well living in San Diego.

Now, while I didn't say expressly their intention was to "take over," I will only repeat what's been said already by others: there is without doubt a contingent of Mexicans who thinks a big chunk of the U.S. is rightfully theirs. Various "Aztlan" and "reconquista" groups have already voiced this view freely and openly, following their own lights rather than my all too obvious paranoia. Now in a country built on the democratic ideal of "one man, one vote" we can only assume that the malevolent geniuses who run the two major Parties are salivating over the ever-increasing ranks of "the Hispanic voter." For them it matters little if these voters are legal or illegal so long as they represent political power.

So far the migratory momentum--Big Mo, Part Deux--has been all one-sided. Phase Two will consist of resistance to the influx. Phase Three will be marked by a movement across the border into Mexico by The Other Side. If Mexico needs to be discouraged, there will be people who will be up for the discouraging. All it will take is a few more years of benign neglect by the oligarchs on both sides of the border to make this happen.

Between guardhouse lawyering, suggesting the death penalty for a misdemeanonr crime, and general slanging and banging, I've enjoyed as much of this as I intend to...

    Nighty-bye.
