What i could do with is a friend in america. When i look for .30 cal remmy core lokt in 150 gr they are about $35 uds for 100 over here. when i look on midway from the usa they are $16 usd. for 6mm 100 grains it is similar. so if i ordered them in the uk 200 of each it would be getting towards $120 USD. That is twice what you guys woulsd pay in america. of course my friend in america would be recompensed for his time to a similar level as the bullets cost in america and the postage to the uk .

That friend in america could always PM me. or if one of my friends had a load he had bulk bought maybe he could send me some?

;)

Hmmmm...something about a private individual exporting ammunition out of country for someone else's use just doesn't sound like the smartest thing to do. I have know idea what the Federal laws are on the subject, though.

i am not looking for full amunition just bullets. i have sought advice on this side of the water and it is ok. I have bought bullets from ebay over there before.

My apologies, you are correct! The companies like MidwayUSA.com or Grafs.com won't ship to you?

And yes, sending bullets only for reloading should be just fine.

Thankyou Lt. I have sent an email to Grafs.com so hopefully i will be sorted. I think it is disgusting that it is cheaper toget bullets sent from america to my door than to pop to my local gunshop.

Miday usa is less than half the price of midway UK.

Steve

crux,
yeah, they are at least twice the price in the uk. so anything more than 1 box you are cheaper shipping them in. It is an out rage really. petrol is $2usd a liter! Anew ruger m77 mk 2 is about $1200 usd. Pistols are illegal. a tub of powder for reloading is towards $60usd. Primers $5 for £100. 22 rf rounds are $13usd for 100.

If it's legal at both ends some supplier in the US should be willing to ship to you. Many suppliers, even if legal from the U.S. rather not ship foreign as it's impossible for them to know import laws in other countries.

I thought you couldn't have a gun at all in England!
Was that a complete rumor?

After those deranged psychopaths Micheal Ryan and Thomas Hamilton, murdered innocent people,by opening fire on them and causing a general bloodbath-the government cracked down on certain weapons-particulary the types used by both murderers,by banning them in our firearms legislation.

Ryan used an AK47,M1 Carbine,A Beretta M92F,A pump-shotgun and a .38 S&W-so the government said lets ban full-bore slrs, etc, etc. After Hamilton handguns were banned after the pervert killed those kids in Dunblane,Scotland.England and Scotland are part of the UK mainland government and they have the same gun laws except for Northern Ireland, who are exempt from our 'mainland legislation'.I hope that you have understood this and could you try to read more on our laws, before you post?

We have 50 states worth of gun laws to keep straight, not to mention gun laws specific to some cities. (i.e. - it can be illegal to transport certain guns/items through a city, and we could argue which laws override local laws, but that doesn't matter if the local police confiscates your gun illegally and you have to fight to get it back)

Anyway, we are aware that the UK has very restrictive laws, but we may not know all the details.

Wow - I thought only the Frogs were arrogant.

They are much worse than us-trust me,although a few of them are alright. When I said 'read up' I meant that a person should research information, before they post.I do it all the time, when I post threads about US,Australian and European tragedies, involving gun misuse or on other topics that I am uninformed of.Reading is the key to knowledge and using this in terms of researching information relevent to posts on here, gives the impression that the person knows their stuff and is not subject to intense nitpicking,by other members, who are more informed. This has happend on this forum,to Aussieseek and BindiC who were attacked for being arrogant and ignorant.

This wasn't an arrogant attack on the uninformed but it is telling them to 'read up' before posting. There are other posters on this forum that would grill people, for being ignorant, because it sounds stupid or straying off-topic,like what we are doing now.Oh and by the way,Im not that arrogant at all and I have to work with people who are 'up their own arse',which isn't pleasant.

Examples of my research include:Visiting the American NRA website and reading up info and going onto various anti-sites and researching their trash and making my own evaluations, from what I read.I tell you now, that reading up on NRA activity, both from the US and the UK,makes me more informed.

Bud, I was just saying - some of us come here for the information. I'm happy to get all the info I can - and so do the other readers/posters. I appreciate you taking the time to tell us. You just came off as a little condescending, thats all. Not everyone can know everything about gun ownership around the world, and thats one of the reasons we have a great place like THR. A wealth of information and real people talking about things that are important to them.

Thanks for the input.
