A great interview with justice Gorsuch!

Gorsuch talks about the US Supreme Court being the "Wonder of the world" at 10:20 minute mark of the video.

He talks about Bill of Rights at 12:25.

"Bill of Rights and liberty ... Bill of Right is a set of promises on paper ... What makes a promise worth the words on paper is the enforcement mechanisms behind it ... Our Bill of Rights is excellent.

... Judges are the backstop to ensure rights and liberties, that is our job"

At 16:10 minute of video, when asked about president Trump commenting in 2017 that "Neil Gorsuch, he will save people's Second Amendment rights", Gorsuch repolied, "My business is your rights, ALL OF THEM, are enforced"

At 16:45 minute of video, when asked about the US Constitution needing to change to better reflect current times, Gorsuch replied, "The original Constitution now includes 27 amendments passed by the 'We the People' ... 'We the People' amended the Constitution, ... to fix the injustices... improved the Constitution, made it a better document. And that is the proper process to do that":thumbup::thumbup:

He then does a great job of explaining the meaning of "Originalism".

At 30:10 minute of video, interviewer says, "Now there are solid 5 conservative members on the court. Something has changed."

You bet ya "something" has changed. :D :thumbup::thumbup:

As stated in the interview, if the SCOTUS has accepted the constitutional amendments as US Constitution "changing with the times" but the "originalism" of staying to the intent and meaning of the Constitution (Gorsuch defines "Originalists" in the next post/video), IMO, this is great news for us gun owners as arguments for the Second Amendment needing to change to reflect modern times will be shot down as only the constitutional amendments will be accepted by the justices as the "necessary" changes wanted "by the people" to add to the Bill of Rights.

Justice Gorsuch defines and explains SCOTUS becoming "Originalist"

"I am an originalist ... We have a written constitution that our founder wrote down ... They made a charter among 'We the people' ... This is what we agreed to as to what the government's powers are and what they are not ... What our rights are. Originalists ... honor what's written there. Honor those words ... Don't make stuff up and don't take things away. That's the idea"

I think this is very telling of what we can expect from the Supreme Court on the Second Amendment.

"Originalists ... honor what's written there. Honor those words ... Don't make stuff up and don't take things away. That's the idea"

And even Ginsburg has defended Gorsuch and Kavanaugh (both Originalists) on their impeccable reasoning - https://www.yahoo.com/news/ruth-bader-ginsburg-praises-brett-165809998.html

"My two newest colleagues are very decent, very smart individuals."

Sadly there are judges who think they’re above the law.
Justices like Gorsuch give us hope. But all should be like him.
I saw the Fox interview and he was amazing. He was a great pick.

We only need one or two more "Originalist" justices like him on the Supreme Court and future of our gun rights/2A is bright.

That's one of the best interviews I have ever seen on TV. . . and to think it's CNN! I'm surprised they released it.
You can see that interviewer "tried" to turn the interview political but Gorsuch shut the door every single time. Great job by Gorsuch!:thumbup::thumbup:

I wish it was so but it ain’t. Chief Justice Roberts is not a reliable Conservative. IMO his opinions are based on the last person he talked to. With the death of Scalia the more liberal members on the Court has his ear. I recently read a in depth article about Roberts which helps to convince me we need one more Trump appointment to the bench. President Trump for all of faults and warts is keeping his word to appoint Conservative Federal Judges (150 so far this week).

The Constitution and Bill of Rights are the contract that allows the U.S. government to exist.
And as Gorsuch stated, it's "Their job" to enforce the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Chief Justice Roberts is not a reliable Conservative.

President Trump ... s is keeping his word to appoint Conservative Federal Judges (150 so far this week).
Yes I agree why we need to re-elect Trump so he can appoint at least one to two more justices to ensure the bench rules in favor of gun rights/2A.

Thanks for posting the interview LiveLife.
I thought the entire video and interview were good. He seems like a stand up guy.
We have a bright gun rights/2A future with "Originalist" justices like Gorsuch.

Now, we just need one or more "Originalist" justices appointed to the Supreme Court for them to "enforce" our gun rights/2A for decades and generations to come.

An hour long talk with justice Gorsuch (He speaks at 6:20 minute mark of video)

A peek into Gorsuch's personal life and views

Thankfully the founders chose 3 branches of government to "check and balance" each other when one branch misbehaves/over reach.

I am looking forward to the Supreme Court continuing to review gun rights/2A cases to "check" and "balance" what our anti gun rights/2A law makers have done for decades.

As of 9/11/19, 152 of Trump's appointments have been confirmed with many more waiting to be confirmed - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_judges_appointed_by_Donald_Trump

By 2020, and especially if/when Trump gets re-elected, the federal courts' and the Supreme Court's landscape will be, perhaps, changed forever to affect "enforcement" of gun rights and the Second Amendment which the law makers MUST follow.:thumbup::thumbup:

I watched the first two videos posted. Very wise man!
He spoke great truths about the constitution and "We the People". The mechanisms are there only if "We the People" would do our part as a whole.

The truth is he is not a conservative at all. His track record for conservatism already stinks and he has only been on the supreme for a short time. He's a neo-con, which actually means modest left and big gov, and anti-gun as long as his rights aren't infringed in the process. It's my opinion he will stick the dagger in our backs when the chips are down. Just like the O-care mandate and him calling it a tax, that kinda sell out. Slime in a three piece suit...

I am in favor of re-electing Trump and having him appoint a few more justices. but not just to ensure our 2A rights. Over the years the courts have allowed every enumerated right to be eroded in favor of government power (the sole exception being the 3rd amendment, which has never really been at issue). All of that encroachment needs to be revisited.

Another great interview with justice Gorsuch.

"I have two rules for my law clerks ... Rule #1: Don't make stuff up ... Rule #2: When it doubt, refer back to Rule #1."

"... when it comes to the role of the judiciary, I believe that the role is to be faithful to the original meaning of the constitution."

When asked to explain what it means to be originalist or constitutionalist, "I want an enduring Constitution and the idea of originalism is just simply that judges should follow the original meaning of the words on the page. And, neither add things that aren't there nor take away things that are there. And, I worry that both of those things happen when we depart from the original meaning of the Constitution."

When asked what James Madison (who helped write the Constitution/Bill of Rights) would say about today's government, "Well, I think one thing he might tell us is to pay attention to the separation of powers ... the truth is that our rights, including the separation of powers, are only as good as the people who want to keep them there."

"We the people can do this ... We can govern ourselves."
