Some guys I know on awbansunset's forum spotted it, so what happened? :scrutiny:
(Here's the thread on awbsunset: http://www.awbansunset.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=5230)

Moderators: this may not be Gun related, but since It's about Oleg's main site I thought this belonged in General, move it if necessary.

Oleg, if the site was hacked & you need any help tracking down the perps, PM me.

sounds like they have it in for oleg or something.....

Time to notify the FBI Computer Crimes Devision I think.

Do these types of attacks happen because of insufficient passwords, or is it something else???

could be one or many of various things, to technical to really go into here.
(very few would understand it anyway)

from the looks of this bunch of net vandals though, it appears they hire out there services.... :scrutiny:

apparently there is a vulnerability in Apache somewhere.
Least apache as fewer vulnerabilities than IIS :neener:
I used to run IIS servers, talk about security headaches.....

un-root is a bunch of brazillian script kiddies. hopefully oleg's ISP is handing it off to the FBI and taking a lesson on patchign systems rgularly.

Ah. I thought he might be the ISP, looking at the list of other sites that were hacked. (Dragaera, Ellegon, Dreamcafe, and various other SF, Fantasy & fandom related sites).

They seem to be working now... I just checked both sites and they are both up.

Edit: Just kidding :( They are down again.

I manually fixed up the front pages this morning, but ALL index files were overwritten with their little "biz card" file. Nothing else erased, AFAIK. The server is now down for restoring from backups. Thanks for the info on where that mess originated.

Wow! Good luck getting everything repaired and re-secured.

(This kinda bothers me, I run a linux-apache web server...guess I'll start updating...)

Oleg, PM inbound with some apache related questions.

I hate hacker thugs. Were it not for the physical safety of the internet, these jerks would have repeatedly had the **** beat out of them by their victims.

I don't condone vigilantiism, but I wouldn't shed a tear if these people ended up beaten and left in a gutter.

Funny story: Teacher sets up honeypot server. Then loads server with a bot virus. Hacker breaks into server, bot virus loads onto hackers computer. Honeypot server then gets the hackers info, then loads a file purge program onto the hackers computer. Funny think is that after he put that server up, several students computers stopped working. Of course they had no idea what happened to it and all they used it for was schoolwork and internet surfing. The teacher then had them by the balls since breaking into campus computers would get you're computer privilages revolked. (and make it impossible to do you're schoolwork and faill all you're classes.) Lets just say that much hilarity ensued.

Crosshair, I've seen a lot of people do the same thing to nail the hackers. Works almost every single time! :D

looks fixed now.

we had five of our GIJOE websites hacked a month or so ago with really lame, misspelled anti Israel garbage. it was more comedy than anyting, but really weird that they went out of their way to mess with a bunch of toy collectors, guess they thought we were all super gung ho

dd-b.net and all of my sites are down again. I got to get a mirror site!

Here's a new graphic for an article in favor of making suppressors unrestricted items:

Nice one Oleg!

Here's an Idea for another I've wanted to do but cant find any suitable photo's for.
(you can use it if you want)

"People Complain about noise from Shooting Ranges when company's build houses near by, and no matter the outcome, it always ends with a costly Legal depute and one side Unhappy.

If the Tax and Restrictions on suppressors were Lifted, both sides could have a happy outcome, and avoid costly Legal despites."

Something along those lines....
