I'm really surprise that Kali banned .50 BMG by name and didn't ban everything over a certain size and power range.

I'd assume this has the ATF approval as a 'sporting cartridge' given that it is over .50?

Other than that, I love it. Ban something, and we'll come out with something bigger.

DMK, this just goes to show you how RIDICULOS and IGNORANT these bills and laws are. They rushed and slapped something together to ban something that there not really sure what it is but its bad and inherently evil and used by terrorists to down 747's and blow holes in nuclear power plant cores( :what: :p ).

This was the same case with the "assault" weapons ban. *** is an assault weapon :cuss:!?!?! So my AR-15 minus a flash suppressor and "grenade launcher" with a fixed stock (not really concerned about the length) doesnt consist of one. The anti-gun bleeding heart liberals slapped something IGNORANT together without enough knowledge about the firearms they intended to ban.

They planned on no more AR-15's or Tec-9's to exist, but they didnt realize the AWB was very vague and ultimately RIDICULOS. It turned out to be a cosmetic pain in the A$$ and nothing more. It also amounted to nothing. Just a pain in the a$$ for manufactures and the average civilan.

It is pretty close to the .50 FUCA! Except they had that idea before I did.

Nice to see ''the bird'' flipped effectively at a crazy and paranoid piece of legislation. It is thus good that it was made .50BMG specific! :)

It is still more than regretable that this law ''punishes'' Ronnie Barrett also.

I wonder tho now - how long before another law is made - shutting this door?

Congratulations, you found the "loophole". Expect a bill to "close the loophole" within a year or two.

I have a feeling this ban is sort of like the federal AWB. The gun-banners just expected manufacturers to just throw up their hands and stop making evil rifles; instead manufacturers took off enough evil features to keep their semi-autos legal. Similarly, I have a feeling that the gun-banners just expected the .50BMG manufacturers to go make .22LR rifles or something, instead of following the letter of the law and making a slightly different rifle in a slightly different caliber.

I can see the next ban - having learned from the stupidity of this one - will probably place a limit at .45 - so that anything at all above that is - no-no.

So - we'll see who will develop a .50MBG equivalent in .45 - perhaps a 750 grain .45 cal bullet - inserted into a freshly fireformed 50 BMG case - that should prove ''interesting''!

    Cat and mouse? probably! :p

To heck with all the 50s, get a 14.5mm JDJ.

SSK Industries has a new one out that launches an 1100+ grn bullet at 2700+fps, parent brass is 50BMG brass necked up to hold the 14.5mm bullet.

That should prove to have a bit of retained energy down range don't you think? It ain't NFA DD regulated either :)

Yeah, not to mention that it's throwing an 1100grn bullet at a velocity similar to what the 50BMG throws the 750grn Hornady Amax at. That there speaks volumes.

If JDJ/SSK would just get over some of their proprietary minded mumbo jumbo it would be nice to order off a 50BMG upper assembly for my AR15s here in Ca. Got my ALS upper completed, kinda think the 14.5mm would be fun as well.

Shucks!!! That is an awesome 17800 or so ft lbs ... gee whizz ....... nearly nine foot tons. Holy moly - that is energy. I dread to think what recoil might be found there, even with a very heavy gun and muzzle brake.

Oh my - that is surely 3,000 yard material? :uhoh: :p

Can we talk - ''crew served''?? :D

    Makes me think, "408 Chey-huh?"

Lot of things claimed for the 408CheyTac wound up not panning out quite as planned when trying to push the thing as claimed, atleast that's what I've read for the past 4 years or so.

But 1100+ grns or so at 2700fps, that thing aught to fly to a hell of a long supersonic flight range. No idea on the BC but it's atleast a 2k yard chambering.
