First of all, I want to thank all the republican, independent and democratic voters who voted for Trump.

Trump winning the election and securing the SCOTUS nominations will usher this country into a new era for gun owners and future gun owners for generations to come. It's time now for us to set our differences aside and work to educate and empower new gun owners and future gun owners, regardless of party affiliation, to expand our gun rights.

Just as the antis have taken away our gun rights over the decades, let's work together to reverse the damage done in past years.

Right to self defense should be a common platform that transcends all political parties.

A seconded amen, and thank you bds for that unifying post!

People who were "clinging to their guns and religion" were huge in last nights victory for the GOP and the future of America.

Trump could immediately overturn ATF Rule 41, right? That would certainly send a signal that he's serious about restoring gun rights.

I recall years ago, a truly incompetent candidate for Governor of Virginia, State Attorney General Mary Sue Terry, was running ads saying, "I've got all the right enemies."

What a fool! To be successful in politics, you have to make FRIENDS, not enemies!

41P was not a total loss, eliminating the LEO sign-off opens things up for a lot of individuals, who don't want to do a Trust, living in large cities where the LEO won't sign-off. While its clearly "bad" for Trusts, it is a win for individuals doing transfers.

Now Obama may use his power with executive orders and do something drastic before he walks out of the office!

The question I am wondering is since we now have a gun-friendly President-elect, presumably a gun-friendly House and Senate, and what will likely be a gun-friendly SCOTUS nomination, if 50-state concealed carry will become a reality?

I'm guessing the many hard-working pro-gun organizations are already working on the logistics of implementation, and I think yesterday has energized enthusiasm towards the future.

I would like to see imports coming back in to America. Russia had some nice semi auto shotguns that were priced right. Forgot the name of them, but was on ak47 style action.

To celebrate, there's a gun show this weekend at the Shriners Temple. I need more primers, powder, and since I'll be there anyway, I'll treat myself to a new rifle!

    Exactly !!

What we need is a BRASS ROOTS EFFORT, instead of relying on the NRA and others to do it all.

50-state concealed carry, that would be fantastic, either a law that there is no more "may issue", only "shall issue" (my preference), or at least reciprocity such that a person could for example have a vacation residence in a shall issue state and his or her primary residence state that might be may issue would have to honor it.

I'm so happy and very relieved today. The past year has been crazy trying to prepare for a Hillary presidency. But I know the antis are seething right now. And will come back harder then ever. So in the meantime let's keep the pedal to the floor!

45ACPBMW, I'll have tables at the show at the Shriners this weekend. When you come in, the first row on the right, about two thirds down on the left. Banner will say "randj sp" leather products. Come by and say hey.

"Hope...is irrational." --Huey Freeman on Obama's 2008 election

I'm hopeful, an era free of the constant existential threat from gun grabbers is glorious; certainly a goal worth striving for. But nobody think it's done or in the bag. Love him or hate him, Trump really doesn't understand the issues that plague us, and though he's given much-appreciated lip service and encouragement, guns are clearly not going to be the primary policy goal in his administration (nor should they be, frankly). We beat Hillary, but now we need to be beat our way to the front of the line at the President's desk, and make sure he either pursues or accepts our policy goals, so when we do the same thing for our congress critters, the bill they work to produce will get signed & has a Chief Promoter selling it to the skeptical public. Hopefully with our help & his son's encouragement, he can either educate himself as he has so far failed to do, or allow us to guide him to our desired policy goals without objection.

But hope without work & resources doesn't amount to anything. "You can sit on your butt all day and hope; if you're too lazy to hope, you're a lazy **********." Relaxing or breathing anything but a momentary sigh of relief are exactly the wrong thing for us to be doing.

    TCB

(I do highly recommend the Boondocks '08 election special for those who can tolerate the language & themes; it's as good a view on American populist political culture as anything ever produced by Mark Twain or H. L. Mencken)

Here is an interesting map showing the voting breakdown state by state. Oklahoma appears to be all red. Oklahoman's do love their guns and their hunting. Notice all the red in New York State cancelled out by the Big Apple.

About this reciprocity agreement, there is a pesky little issue called the Interstate Commerce Clause. The Feds, through a broad interpretation (there's no shortage of that) of this clause *might* prompt them to self-appoint concealed carry law doctrine, and wreak havoc, as our federal government loves to do on a regular basis. Just sayin'...

Eliminating may issue entirely would be incredible.

Obviously, anti-gun states would initially go into ballistic panic mode, but it wouldn't take too long to see the results. When citizens in the least gun-friendly states then start seeing first hand that the benefits of concealed carry dramatically outweigh the drawbacks, they might even start to question the anti-gun propaganda that is pumped through the tube, and realize that most media coverage of gun-related topics are rarely providing fair coverage on the issues.

Heck, Chicago could become a safe place to live once gang members realize their intended victims are going to shoot back.
