A semi-serious question!

You forgot, goes for rides on his motorcycle, takes his family out on the boat, maybe in the RV, if he's doesn't have a race that weekend for those other toys. Could even get stuck getting the paper work done so you can take your G5 to switzerland.

If you want to envy, envy bigger than "has time". :)
Those that need more time, sleep less.....
As a bubble head, I slept maybe 5 hours a day, but I got a ton done and made time for everything. After a few years of that your priorities will change...

For me, it's more about time allocation.
But I juggle between competing hobbies (guitars, motorcycles, archery and hunting among other) and keeping up with the household tasks, grandkids' activities and such
If it's important enough, people will find a way to do or get something.

Hobbies take time and money. Children take even more time and often more money than hobbies. Just have to decide what's more important, and focus on that.

Sounds like you have it well under control. Family first, then the homestead, and finally the rest. If shooting and reloading become more important than guitars and motorcycles, you'll find time to shoot and reload more. If it's something else, you'll find time for that too. Cut back on this to have time for that.

Yup. We’re making time for the zoo Saturday. I could go shooting but I’d rather watch the little one’s faces when they pet a rhinoceros for the first time. Those are golden moments. 😁

I retired from my full-time job at the end of January, and am now a part-time firefighting instructor. Most classes are at night, so my days are mostly open. Right now, the FD hosting the class I'm teaching Tuesday and Thursday evenings is about 5 minutes from our gun club, so very easy to hit the range before heading to class.

No kids helps a lot.

Retired for 5 years, single all my life, worked hard and saved lots. Also put lots of guns and reloading supplies away for future retirement. Lately my health has taken a toll on my body and can't get out and shoot as much as I would like but can squeeze in some shooting in before getting too tired. Reloading takes longer but I am in no hurry these days and enjoy the trip. Waiting for a pacemaker to heal propperly so I can shoot again. One month left, can't wait!!

Range is 30 min away if I want to go or shoot in my back yard if I feel like it. Look across the street and see the ocean. Live in a small cottage with little maintanence required. Pay for help/services as needed. Just don't go overboard with spending.

OK, what, exactly...am I doing wrong?
I read in post-after-post things like;
"Loaded up 300 rounds of .30-06. Going to shoot them in the morning"
"Cast 1200 SWC last night. Loaded them this morning and leaving for the range this afternoon"

...and so forth. On a Tuesday or Thursday, no less!
Are most of you guys retired, (even the ones half my age), with 1.5M in your retirement funds? How can you take time off to go shooting in the middle of the week, burn up $200.00 worth of ammo plus range fees, and reload the same cases you just fired and do it again the next week as well? I find it lucky if I can get to the range 3 times over the course of the summer! Who mows your lawn, washes the car, does home repairs, goes to kids (or grandkids') games, paints the garage or stains the deck? You guys have set the bar impossibly high and you are eroding my self-confidence! What am I missing?
I work Sun to Wed at my day job, and have a pistol range in my yard. If I want to shoot rifle, I jump in my SxS and drive about 5 minutes out into the desert where I have targets set up out to 1/2 mile.

I am also retired, 8 years. Shoot when I can, handload when I can. Some here probably know I prefer the high deserts for shooting. Doesn't happen too often in the summer.
My shooting usually is once a month and I'm fine with that. Handloading?, well, I have plenty of time to that when I feel like. Wife makes sure I don't get lazy. Why do they do that? Oh well, she still feeds me and such, so, life is dandy. Perhaps I'll do some bench stuff tomorrow.

I'm retired and have a small bore range to 50 yds out the back door. Club range is 25 miles and hit it once a week usually. I shoot 3 other pistol matches weather permitting 9 months of the yr. Gotta scratch Oct and Nov for hunting if I have tags. Using a gang mold (6cav) I can cast a yrs worth of pistol shooting in a couple of hrs. Only took about 50 yrs to get here.

That is what Grandma called "wishing your life away." Don't.

I retired early on a generous plan, I have no debt and no dependents. I have shot about all I wanted to without having to scrimp and save. Age is creeping up and I don't feel like doing all the shooting I would like to.
True. As for dependents, do grands count? LOL

Fortunately I represent the local FOP lodge so I have “free” access to my local range, about 5 minutes from the house, 10 from the office.
I just need to reload more!

Well...........
I live on a small farm with my own personal range.
I've accumulated a ton of components and such over the years that now I'm living in a place with said range I get out and shoot just about anytime I feel like it. I do limit it a bit to be courteous to the neighbors.
I cut my lawn, take care of my animals, do all the cooking and cleaning, and work a regular job 10 hours a day, 6 days a week.
If I can somehow bring myself to sell the late missus Coronet R/T, maybe I'll think about retiring and burning even more gunpowder........

I'm retired! 10 years ago yesterday! I had a fairly good paying job with a Pension and I saved some money. Even though I'm busy now I have time to do the things that you mentioned. But it wasn't always that way. My job was very demanding (Electrical Lineman) and my time was not my own. (If I were still working I probably would be in Florida or somewhere along the East Coast right now) My shooting, reloading and hunting time suffered when the kids were home. Baseball, Boy Scouts, nighttime call-outs, unexpected storm restoration, ect all were a demand on my time.

Just a little advice that you didn't ask for: :)

Don't wish your life away! Live beneath your means. Don't try to keep up with "The Jones"! Try to save money on a regular basis. Try to keep your debts to a minimum. Did I say "don't wish your life away"? ;)
