sirgilligan,

That's a BHP success story if I ever heard one! Is that the factory finish on yours?
Absolutely a factory finish. The photo was taken outside on our deck with the Browning Safari .30-06 and two BHP's on top of our Kentucky Wildcats blanket. It was a nice day and the photos do the BHP's justice.

BHP's, Wildcats, Cards, they are all good in my opinion.

Born and raised in Kentucky. My Aunt's house was about two miles for Churchill Downs. I grew up on a farm near Glasgow.

The love of Hi-Powers spans all sorts of divides. Apparently even Nazis liked them. Although I can't get behind them anymore than I can the Wildcats. ;)

^ Cylinder and Slide, It was their extended slide stop. Although its stamped RDIH from a company in Germany (If I recall Correctly)

The gun also sports their (C&S) trigger and internals...

FWIW, that Slide Stop/Release sold/installed by C&S here in the US originated with R.D.I.H./SPRL...of Liege, Belgium, as a component of their SFS (Safe Fast Shooting) Kit for the FN BHP. An SFS Kit was developed...and sold/installed by C&S, for the 1911 as well. The SFS mechanism itself is an outgrowth of FN's HP-FA (Fast Action) design of the mid-'70s, just installed in a regular BHP.

Tarosean: I assume C&S did a trigger job when they installed their Wide Trigger? Have you ever had the opportunity to put it on a scale?

Yes they did a trigger job, Its been a few years since I put a scale on it, so Id hate to blurt out a number. Since my mind is somewhat like swiss cheese now-a-days.

Seat of the pants, only my semi-custom 1911's have superior lighter triggers and most of those are in the 2-3lb range.

Currently the kids have destroyed my scale and I keep forgetting to order another.. :banghead:

My two Hi(gh) Powers.

I've let a "NATO" and a very pretty Portuguese build go in the past but these two remain.
A '58 30-06 High Power and '61 Hi Power.

I do kinda miss that NATO pistol.
