Of course you could start a thread entitled "Fancy Colt Photos Please" and Gunkwazy (Jeff) would post all his beauties. Some of which are prototypes and experimentals.

...is certainly curious. An anticipation of a sort of 'Bisley' style Hammer, and, all round, pretty elegent.

Great find. I did not know those pics existed. I went to the CT State Library a few years ago to see the Colt Collection and they wouldn't even let cell phones inside - no photos at all. The only gun you can touch in there is a Gatling gun.

Cool Arcticap! Thanks for posting those links -- there are some interesting photos in there.
I liked the prototype 1860 Army with the fluted cylinder and hinged bullet ram, but many others were fascinating as well.
