It doesn't mean you weigh any more or any less; it's a known error ("always measures") and you can adjust for it. And to jump back to shooting rifles, the squirrel is still dinner because the shooter could make the shot.
I always hated English classes with people arguing over the meaning of some word, such as is. I discovered why the wise man contemplated his belly button instead of talking. It was quieter.
I also understand mean, median, mode and all of that statistical manipulation. That's fun to play with, but shooting is about hitting what you need to hit, when you need to hit it. Call it what you will. Proof of the pudding is in the eating and all that.

Me. I've spent some time hanging out at K.C. Young's range and bumming trigger time from various folks. Then there was the guy at the range my dad and I belonged to near Lexington. He had some wonderful rifles built by Clay Spencer. A little here, a little there, you live long enough and get around you meet a lot of people.
