Acog?

There are plenty of ARs out there with 14.5" barrels and permanently attached muzzle devices to bring the length up to 16" or more. Still only 14.5" of barrel though.

I have an Acog reflex that I like for a number of things, it’s really just a dot scope that’s been on for decades, with no batteries and it always adjusts itself for the ambient lighting. For the last 8 years or so it’s been on my chicken coop/coyote rifle because of the above, crack the door quietly and shoot is all I have to do.

A friend of mine has that model on his coyote gun. We've had no issues taking it out to 400yds using the BDC when zero'd at 200 with 55grn Nosler BTs.
It could well be that the lighter, faster, 55BTs drop is about equal to the slower, but higher BC 62grns at distance. You could always use a ballistic program like Strelok to play with that reticle and find a "happy medium" for a zero that would allow the BDCs of the reticle to be accurate enough.

I have the TA31F RCO but i mostly shoot handloads or m193, so my hashes never lined up perfectly, but have been close enough to hit a 10" plate at 500 yards usually at least 8 out of 10 times.
it's an awesome optic. but if i had it to do over, i probably would go with a 3x instead of the 4x.

I went with a Trijicon TA-33G Horseshoe on a 16 inch 1/7 Noveske.
For a Flattop 16" firing M193:
Sight in 1" high at 100m. You'll be 0.3" high at 200, 0.7" low at 300 and within MOA until 600 where you will be 10" low.
From what I understand most Acog’s are calibrated for 16 inch AR’s compared to 14.5”. Think how many civilians own AR’s and top it with an Acog compared to the military. Think Trijicon is going to skip on that market?
