I tried to like a P226 after watching a guy here do well with one, looked like a good IDPA SSP.
I have the opposite problem with the slide release. It is tiny and poorly located, I could not reliably get on it for an IDPA slide lock reload. So I am back to 1911 (2011 USPSA) and the other guy is shooting a Glock and looking at CZ.
My P226 is now a house gun, I figure 18 rounds ought to repel boarders.

This was pretty fun. 13.65 hit factor on the first stage, only 1 charlie

Great match yes it does, you've been solid. It is of matter of time, there will be room for you in that roll.

This match was hard. Video looks good but you can't see all the penalties in it, so I'll just leave it at that.

Switched to a new Tanfoglio Defiant Stock Master. It arrived Friday, spent a few hours Saturday tuning and doing trigger job, and shot a match on Sunday. South Florida section match is next week.

Shot a concealed carry match yesterday. 10 stages. 5 rounds each. Stages had 2,3,4 or 5 targets. You had to spread your 5 rounds around so that everyone got at least one shot. Interesting format. Targets were close and fast, and it gave me a chance to shoot my CZ p10c from appendix

Shot the Florida Open on Friday. This is notorious for being a difficult match. 35 yard swingers on half sized targets. Fun...

Shot the SCAR-16 at a local "black rifle" match last weekend. To be clear: I'm posting not to show anyone how to do anything other than be slow and suck. But people have asked me to share videos.

Stage 5, with steel torsos out at roughly 100,200,300,400 yards. I hit first shot with all but shot again at the 300 because I didn't hear it hit (it took longer than I thought for the sound to travel back). totally lucked out. Optic is Aimpoint H1 (no magnification). Trigger=Geissele. Rail extension=PWS.

I placed first in Limited division on this stage.

Stage 1: started the day off with a nasty double feed malfunction. Either the bolt was full of water and hydro-locked the firing pin or something for the first shot or I'd stuffed my mag too full and the first round didn't chamber fully (even though I bumped the charging handle firmly). Anyway after 1 stage I was 15 seconds back LOL

    Stage 2 wasn't much better.

Stage 3 went a little better, and I cleared the plate rack 1:1 at about 60 yards offhand, which I was happy with.

Stage 4 was going fine but then I had to take 15 shots to hit 2 steel T-post targets at about 45 yards. LOL. Then I went 1 for 1 on the next two. ???

Feel free to mock/laugh/whatever. Nice day for a match and lots of fun!

Headed up to Pennsylvania from Florida to my old range to shoot this match. It was 45 degrees and raining the entire time. We had to go shopping the day before for warmer gear and rain jackets, ha.

Took second place at 99.2% behind Phil Strader

Nice shooting! As I'm watching this video, at about the 56 second mark, you come to a target that barely has any of the top showing above a no-shoot. That looks like a very tight shot. Is the entire A zone still visible or are you allowed to cover some of it? Where do you put your dot on a shot like that?

One of things keeping me from shooting an rds is shots like this. I have some astigmatism and red dots never look round to me, they smear diagonally. I feel like I see irons better still. I know I'll be moving that way soon but probably need to go see the eye doctor first!

I greatly enjoy watching this thread and I feel compelled to contribute my own meager efforts. I shoot some IDPA and the occasional 2/3 gun. I help put on some of these matches our local club. I don't record that many of my stages but will try to post one here occasionally if this thread continues to live on. These are from a 2gun match earlier this year. I'll see if I have any IDPA to post sometime. I enjoy seeing other's stages and being able to discuss them.

    Have a great day!

It was the upper A zone and above. Taking the shot like that before activating it prevented you from having to go back to the ride side after shooting the popper on the left. If I was shooting irons it would be a much more difficult shot to make.

I started shooting USPSA in 1986 (no longer compete). I have a low 3 digit lifetime membership. One thing I always remember was people saying "If you are worried about taking videos of yourself, you're probably not going to do very well". You can probably learn to ignore the camera. Focus on shooting, not looking good on video. :D

Couple stages from last Saturday's "supershoot" UPL match. Feel free to ridicule/mock/ignore. I placed third in Stock division. I won one stage out of 12, got second in a couple, third in a few, and 5-6th in the rest. Obviously consistency is a problem LOL. My 16-year-old son shot in Race division and placed first (there were no other Junior shooters in Race division :D ).

Compared to your years past stages where there were a lot of jerky transitions and pauses, I saw much smoother "tink, tink, tink, tink, tink ..." If you can compare your old videos with current, I think you will definitely see the improvements.

And you are ultimately not competing with anyone but yourself. I mean you could win but everyone could be having a bad match day making you look good. ;) One of the top regional shooters who coached me said if I am not improving my stage/shooting drill times over time, I am not improving no matter how high I climb on the club ladder because other shooters could be stagnant.

UML District 1 Championship on Saturday.
I didn't get video but a buddy grabbed a couple of photos.

I took 1st in 2 Gun Open and 15th overall. I had one pretty bad stage, 2 really good stages, and a few decent ones.

    Good, fun match.

Obviously they allow coaching or spotting. That’s interesting. That rifle stage was crazy.
