Actually finding a good penetrating oil?

I soaked the barrel overnight in the 50/50 beforehand. I must have gotten the wrong ATF, because shaking the jar results in a mostly opaque pink that separates by morning. Is there a brand specified? I just used the cheap stuff.

I'll order the Choreboy or Lewis system soon enough, but I didn't want to wait a week. :)

The Deep Creep and plenty of scrubbing with a new, stiff brush got all but a little spot, which I scraped free with the corner of a cleaning rod.

Ed's Red is a great penetrating oil. I use it for almost all of my gun cleaning needs. I also use it for soaking rusted fasteners on old vehicles. Works better than Liquid Wrench or WD-40. Haven't tried Kroil, I'm sure it works fine too.

For getting stuff out of bores I recently tried Bore Tech Eliminator. The stuff is amazing. Cut cleaning time by 75%.

Why wait a week? ChoreBoy is available at WalMart in the grocery dept. with the cleaners and chemicals. Ask for pot scrubbers, be sure to get ChoreBoy brand.
