Nice. I have a 77/22 in 22 WMR that I need to shoot more. I tend to shoot more 22 mags through my Single Six than the 77/22.

Congratulations, and welcome to the club! I loved my 22 WMR so much I bought another one! Mine is also XT-22M, but with the standard taper barrel, wood stock, and topped with a Bushnell 3.5-10x36 scope. It is a nail driver with CCI's 40 grn SGB. Blue murder on 'chucks and crows out to about 110 - 120 yards. Much farther than that and it gets a bit sketchy. My second WMR is a Henry standard, and it wears a Marble's front bead (custom job) and buckhorn rear sight, both from a Marlin 336. A fine shooting rifle, for sure and has taken varmints out to 75 yards so far. Those sights are a marked improvement over factory. Hope you enjoy your new rifle, it sure is a looker!

Decided to go old school sighting in, no bore sighting, no laser, just throw up a big piece of paper and go for it.
That's how I do it. Works for me as it did for you.

Three shots and I was in the neighborhood. After a little fine tuning she's shooting groups the size of a quarter at 50yds. I'm happy with that for now. Ammo was CCI Vmax 30gr.
Nice neighborhood!
BTW, I agree with you, I am a wood stock guy. Even prefer wood grips on my handguns.

Congrats on your Marlin. BTW, another vote for wood and steel.

I got interested in .22WMR firearms a couple of years ago. I bought a .22LR Heritage Rough Rider single action revolver with a 6-1/2" barrel. It came with a second cylinder that converted it to .22WMR. I enjoyed plinking with the magnum round and down the rabbit hole I went. I've since added a bolt action Ruger American Rimfire, a semi-auto CZ 512 and, most recently, an Rock Island Armory 1911-A1 XT-22M pistol to my .22WMR line-up. None of them seem to be too finicky about ammo brands. I've used CCI, Fiocchi, and Amscor (all 40gr) without experiencing problems. The CZ already has a wood stock and Boyds has a wood stock that's a fit for the Ruger which may be the next thing I do to it.

Enjoy your new acquisition!
