I always liked the action on my zt 0450, but I never liked the way it felt in my hand. My first mod was to take the little tip off the back of the handle that poked my pinky when I gripped the knife. This morning I added a forward finger choil and it has vastly improved the ergonomics of the knife.
I used my Dremel to grind out along the line here. started with a coarse wheel to hog most of the material out, then, then a finer drum to give me a smooth shape. When I had it ground out, I chamfered the edges with the smooth stone, then used 400 grit sandpaper around a sharpie and bic pen to get rid of nearly all the grind marks. Finally I polished it up with the felt Dremel drum and some polishing compound (though the final polish was somewhat unnecessary) I was concerned that the fancy knife steel would be hard to grind, but it was super easy, maybe because it was so thin. this was the picture I found that was my inspiration
I cut my choil this big. Originally it was .75", but it was too small. This is as small as I would ever possibly want it. .84 would probably be just right. After I had done the mod, I thought, man, this feels a lot like my ferrum forge stinger.
