I broke down today and ordered a Walker replica from Cabela's. The price is right and they have them in stock. I had been looking on GB, but most people want to charge new or above new prices for a used gun. So now I can mark another off the list. It's a shame but I have to wait until the middle of Febuary to play with it.

Waiting has never been my strong suit. While waiting for mine to arrive my wife had to make a trip out of state. Until about one year ago we had cars and trucks everywhere and decided to just have one. I walked to the PO three days in a row and came close to just camping out in the lobby. Great to see another Walker in the gang.
 
sweet,, I have one and alot of fun,,,just can't hit anything good thing I wasn't a cowboy...
 
I can't wait to see just how big this cannon is. I have a Whitneyville Dragoon and it is a lot bigger than my other revolvers. Now from what I have read the Walker is bigger yet. Should look quite nice hanging from my saddle opposite my Henry Big Boy. I might have to get a mule to carry the required powder. Hahaha!!
 
I have a Uberti Walker and the Walker is bigger than the Dragoon. The cylinder is a little longer and the barrel is one & one half inches longer. The Whitneyville Dragoon was built using the Walker frame with a shorter cyinder and barrel. The shorter cylinder was accomodated by extending the portion of the barrel between the front of the cylinder and the flat portion of the barrel that joins the frame. Only 240 of these "Transition Dragoons" were made. The frame was changed on the later dragoons to make them easier to manufacture. The major change was in the area where the grip joins the frame.

You're quite welcome. When you get your Walker you will be able to see up close what I said about the frame of the Whitneyville Dragoon. The rounded profile where the grip joins the frame is the same on both. This was changed to a square profile on the First Model Dragoon to simplify the milling of the frame.
