Addicted to Hi Powers

Sadly, I own just one. It's been in Vegas since Oct getting new 1911 sights, trigger job, new barrel and a few other touches.

A couple of years ago I finally got a friend of mine to come out to the range. Pulled out my hi power, said it's like a lingerie model, dead sexy to look at and even sexier to caress.

I got these Hogue grips for Christmas a couple of years ago. They're just marked "Browning Hi-Power", no other designation given. These are Rosewood; they also have ones made from Pau Ferro, Goncalo Alves, Kingwood, and Cocobolo, both uncheckered and checkered.

Do you have any pics from the back? If not are those grips flat or have some palm swell to them?
I would like to find hi power grips preferably wood that have a CZ 75ish palm swell feel.

I bought two in the mid 80s when I learned they were no longer going to be made and assembled in Belgium.
I’ve shot one. The other is still in the box unfired.

I have a T series that is parkerized and a C series from 1988. I find the C series to be everybit as nice as the older one. I got a bunch of the Browning rugs that I bought in pawn shops for a couple of bucks a long time ago.

I would also add that the T like the C is not a model designation it is just an inventory control tool for the bean counters.

There were multiple model configurations and even manufacturing changes within the T and C pistols timeframes.

I just have an old Hungarian clone that I got when I was just a kid. It was my first 9mm pistol.

The sights are small and the trigger is kind of gritty, though not too stiff.

It feels good in my hand and points well.

For me it shoots as well as any good, full-sized service pistol with "GI sights".

Shooting a decked-out example with improved sights and trigger must be the cat's meow. :)

The OP's newest acquisition is a thing of beauty. :)

Your FEG is still a great gun

My only Hi Power is an Argentine model made on Browning equipment. It’s marked as F.N. Browning. Kinda rough around the edges, but it functions just fine.

Those make outstanding for customization in future BTW . I have one at an HP Gunsmith with a year + wait . Lots of checkering and stippling refinish and sights and trigger work . My budget was $1400 and I can get a lot for that .
