Affordable 22LR (Lowest shipped pricing)

LiveLife,

I really like this thread a lot! I use it to just kinda gauge the general availability and cost of .22 ammo, which I use in addition to 9MM, .223, 30-06, and .38 Spl ammo as a sort of ‘economic indicator’ of the condition of the ammo market.

I also appreciate your keeping my mental faculties exercised as I break everything down to $ per round, so your $ per 500 makes me mentally convert everything as I read your posts…LOL!

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks!

Take care,

Buzz

i recently tried a box of this $21 federal automatch 22lr from walmart. sad to say, it was junk in a semiauto pistol, maybe 50% malfunctioned in my ruger sr22. so much for the automatch name... it ran ok in a ruger lcr 22lr revolver.

I guess it’s possible you got a bad batch.

I had an SR22 for a few years. Mine was very finicky when it came to ammo…and only ran well on CCI Minimags. If I cleaned and lubed it, it would run other ammo, but after a few hundred rounds, would tend to start having issues. I kept the gun and shot it almost every range session. It was a great gun when it ran well, but as I tend to not clean guns every range session, it didn’t really fit with my shooting style.

It reminded me of my Sig Mosquito, which was very similar that it only ran well on Minimags. That one is long gone too.

I am not saying yours is the same as mine, and it’s not uncommon of .22 auto loaders to be ammo-selective.

YMMV.

Remington Bucket O' Bullets 36 gr ... $35.62/500
Wow! The slide begins!:) (I hope!:D)

If it ever gets below $0.06 per round I'll slowly start to replenish what we've shot up since our last "panic". Until then we are stocked for at least another 20 months or so.

I am well stocked enough to last several more years but tracking price trend to restock at the bottom.

I think seeing these "major" brands below $40/500 shipped is a good signs like the previous shortage cycle of 2012-2019 where prices hovered around $30/$20 per 500 shipped before prices fell.

I am certainly not holding my breath for $20/500 shipped price bottom but do think we have not reached the bottom of current cycle.

Thank you for keeping up with the price trends, I know it must take a good amount of time and dedication. I'm essentially waiting for you to give the go ahead to stock up when you believe we've hit the bottom. I have enough to get me through for a bit, so I'd like to spend all of my .22 buying money as efficiently as possible.

I really appreciate your hard work keeping this updated. Prices are certainly creeping down. I was tickled to get a brick of federal champion yesterday at a local store(Bi-Mart) for $36.I missed the mini mags by a bit but they were priced under $10/100. Best prices I’ve seen in a brick and mortar store in a few years.
Keep up the good work LiveLife

I'd've been all over those Mini-Mags for under $10.

And it's happening!!!

Aguila 40 gr CPRN has been the most accurate ammunition during recent 10,000+ round testing behind CCI SV/Blazer - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...r-ammunition-comparison.908102/#post-12353921

I get all giddy every time I get a notification that you've posted. I always know that you have good news for us.

When I see that prices have dropped to or below what Wal-Mart Automatch costs (6.5 cents per round before tax) I'll be super happy.

Woohoo! Case quantities!
The only way to buy it!:)

I’ve also been lucky enough to find some AutoMatch at the local Market O’ Walls. While not the greatest in my bolt action, it’s the perfect price for my AR with the binary trigger.;)

No longer. $35/500 shipped pricing is on only 2000 rounds (4 bricks of 500). :D And currently "cheapest" 22LR is also one of more accurate ammo from my 40,000+ round testing  - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...cheap-bulk-22lr-ammunition-comparison.908102/

NOTE: Since 22LR price trend has continued to fall, I will no longer post pricing below $50/500 shipped, only below $40/500 shipped.
