Age of Rossi .38 revolver?

I saw an older Rossi .38 revolver yesterday. It's a nickel-plated 3" 5-shot. I was wondering how old it is. I know it's not new because it's imported by Interarms.

Does anyone have a key to Rossi serial numbers?

What's a good price on one of these pups? This one needs a good cleaning, but the nickel plating is like new and overall it appears to be in excellent condition.

From the sound of it that is the Rossi Model 68, made between 1978-85 and may command a price of $150 NIB. Avg price $95. Had two in blue finish sold long ago. Use standard .38 Special loads in it, your hand will thank you (very snappy recoil). Good 'kit gun'.
