So... I need a dot on my AK. I will be mounting it on my Midwest Industries handguard, so I want light weight. I've narrowed it down to the Aimpoint H1, and the Trijicon RMR LED. I've heard excellent things about the ruggedness of both, which is important to me, and I REALLY like the size of the RMR.

I can't really pick a dot based off specs... size and weight is close enough for me not to care, battery life is comparable (I replace batteries yearly, and both are capable of going well-over a year on certain settings), overall ruggedness is comparable. FOV isn't much of a concern as both are fine by me (used both recently). Both have a ton of mounting options for other rifles. Effectively the same dot sizes (2/4 MOA on the H1, 3.25 MOA on the RMR). the only thing I see that sways me one way is that Trijicon has a lifetime warranty, where Aimpoint only has a 10-year. Is there anything remarkable about either one to distinguish it?

Thanks!

Well, I settled on the 4 MOA H-1. The reputation and battery life are too hard to ignore.
