AK-47 question

I've got a Norinco MAK-90 that I'm planning to sell. It is semi-auto in 762x39. I bought it 7 or 8 years ago from a gun dealer so I don't remember if I had to wait 10 days to pick it up, or if I took it out the door the same day. I was planning to put it on consignment with a local dealer, but a friend of mine has expressed interest in buying the gun from me. Can I just sell it to him or do we need to take it to an FFL to do the transaction? I live in the Peoples Republic of Maryland.

theres no federal laws keeping you from selling it to him assuming you both live in Maryland. hopefully some one from maryland can clear up the state laws. in the mean time i see if i can find anything ( all else fails, FFL transfer should only cost ya 20$ or so)

I'm pretty sure you can do private sales in Virginia, but I know Maryland is a little more whiney about their gun laws (sorry). You'll really have to check into that, I'm sure someone can pull up a PDF document for you like the one I have.
