Too bad you don't live here in AZ, which is where Lancaster is based. I went to a gunshow a few weeks back to pick up a 74 and they had the special gunshow price of $499 out the door. Here's what I got:

Whattt? Thats so freaking nice! I need to get one of those red wood 74s !

Where in AZ? When I went to the range two days ago, there was a bunch of that brass floating around on the deck, did not scrounge any.

I'm in Sierra Vista, if you know where that is. Unless you're asking which gunshow, then it was the one at the Pima County fairgrounds.

You shouldn't even mention the "L" folks in the same sentence as In Range.

There is no comparison.
Could you elaborate on this? Thanks.
Lancaster Arms runs a large operation (with many "assemblers") and they're all ham-handed hacks next to Troy at In Range.

L for lovely ,lol. Or the other way around ?
Didn't you learn about "context clues" in school?

Lancaster can't hold a candle to In Range.

I'm no cheerleader for anyone by any means, but I do have two Lancaster rifles (47 and 74) and they are both excellent in terms of fit, finish, and operation. In fact, out of the 6 AKs I own they are two of the nicest. I guess mine must have been put together by some petite fingered workers prior to them being let go in favor of the brutes that work there now. :scrutiny: Either that or I just got lucky.

No luck involved - you must not own any built by In Range.

No, I don't. I know people that own them and have gone out with them. I didn't see any differences or experience any function or accuracy differences between their In Range and my Lancasters though. Certainly nothing of the sort that would qualify your statement of

Lancaster can't hold a candle to In Range

They are both fine rifles. To each their own though.

I'm not familiar with Lancaster, but I am with In Range.

I've handled hundreds of AK-type rifles and I'm comfortable saying that there's not a better built AK-type out there. Troy is meticulous and does exceptional work.

If Lancaster can do as well as In Range, they're building a good gun.

We sell both product lines and thousands of AK rifles a year so we may see a few more of these than most retail buyers , both items are nice & while we respect In Range and their well deserved reputation the Lancaster rifles a very well built & finished .
