I would imagine it would work just as well as its 7.62x39 brothers and sisters.

Ultimak is probably still youre best bet too.

How easy is it to put the rear iron sight back on?

It should pop right back in. They can be a pain to get out sometimes though.

Do you think that is a adequate mount for that type optic?

I just now realized what you were talking about. I thought you meant mounting the dot up forward, like on an Ultimak.

I dont know about the one that replaces your iron sight.

I would still recommend the Ultimak over everything else going right now. You can keep your irons, and still use them through the dot, which will cowitness. The rifle shoulders and shoots like it does with just the irons alone, and you get the same basic cheek weld.

I just looked at the ultimak. It looks like a good quality setup. Does it require getting used to the optic being that far forward?

No, not at all. I have a couple with Aimpoints mounted, and they work great.

Doenst affect balance, and opens up your field of view.

I might be sold on that one. I saw a scout mount that replaces the rear iron sight also. It looks like a solid mount also but I like the idea of the irons being on it too just in case bc Murphy likes to follow me around from time to time.

Good choice for that. I recommend a tube sight, though. Get one that's a good match and you can co-witness iron sights.

If you are gonna be taking off/putting back on Ak rear sights more than once get the Campy Sight Tool from Power Custom. It makes life easy.
