Went to our locally recurrent gunshow today for a look-see at AK stock and prices. I was interested in an SSR-85C-2 from Armory. There was only one to be found and it was a nice side-folder. Price was too rich for me and as I put it back down, the man behind the table asked what I thought of it. I told him it was nice but too expensive for me. (Usually at this show there isn't much to be seen or had of haggling, so I wasn't going there.) He said if I wanted to take it home, the price was negotiable. I was kind of shocked. I made an offer of what the standard-stocked version goes for around here($550) and he said O.K. Out came the wallet and my CPL as, here in Michigan, anything under 30" is considered a handgun. They measure with the stock folded. No matter, I'm happy with it for my first AK. How'd I do?
