About six years ago (... sheesh... six years?) I did the whole AK thing with my Saiga. I didn't have much cash to spend on it at the time, so I had to kind of hack it when it came to machining out a spot for the the cleaning rod in the lower handguard. I used one of the Dinzag bolt-on handguard retainers, and that works pretty well, but the handguard flops around if the cleaning rod isn't inserted. Is there a correct way to create this slot for the cleaning rod, or are there any US-made lower handguards that have it already machined out? Or, is it just supposed to flop around?
