If you have a stripped AK barrel, are any of the parts from the worn barrel servicable? (namely the gas block, but I'd be interested if any other parts are usable also)

well a "stripped" barrel would be just the barrel no blocks or trunnion

if you mean you have a shot out barrel, are the FSB,FGB, and trunnion still good? yes they should be. if you plan to rebuild your rifle with a new barrel, you need to be sure your new barrel has the proper specs for your old trunnion and parts

Right. So if the front sight base and gas block are ok, then I'm good? How would the specs differ if the barrel is 7.62 like shot out one?

would just take a dial caliper and compare the old and new barrel while there was a couple of differnt sized trunnions used so you would measure where the barrel presses into the trunion not sure about gb and fsb so it would probably be a good idea to take some measurements to see if they are the same diameter.
dont forget to headspace the barrel.

now i may be wrong on thise, but Yugo and Chinese have different barrel specs. their barrels are a bit thicker ( less contoured)

heres one of the AK charts i reference

it was sent to me during some of by building research. im unsure of where it originates from ( i know, bad source)
