You want a tight solid semi-custom for the money? Baer TRS is hard to beat. Want snob appeal and a more refined look/feel? Wilson or Brown. Want a brown bag looking kick-a$$ tactical tool? Springfield Pro for sure. Most folks will have no idea what you have and no idea how good it is. I have owned them all, and all are levels of great in their own way. I settled back on the Baer over the Pro ONLY because the way the frame is cut on the trigger guard on the Baer over the Pro. YMMV:

If you're not currently without, I would strongly suggest having a custom built.

Decide what you really want, shop your list and send it to a good pistolsmith.

Excellent source for high quality frames here: http://elitewarriorarmament.com/Contact_and_ordering.html. Jason Griego, who spent several years working for Chuck Warner is just getting these to market and Mr. Warner's verification of the specs. on sample runs has been extremely positive.

Caspian slide with custom serrations, TR hammer and sear, lots of EGW parts, a hard fit Kart and Severns Custom Hard Hat finish. That's what I'd like for Christmas.

My preferred builder for the project: http://1911doctor.com/

Well when I went to pick up my 66-3 I bought off here. I revisited the CQB and a host of others. Then finally I spoted a lil ugly duckling sitting by by her lonesome. Me being impatient and all and a complete 180 from what I thought I wanted. Here she is WC Professional

Bill Wilson ...will not be pleased that you called his "professional line" of 1911's an Ugly Duckling....geez man.....its still a Wilson...(even if it is battleship gray)....:D

You gun looks pretty clean in the photo ...is it new or used ? What kind of finish is on it ?

Your gun looks just like the one in their online catalog ....??

LOL... I even told my dealer that this is the ugliest gun here but it is perfect in every single way.

The hardest part was handing it over to my wife to be wrapped.

I did want to say congratulations on the pistol. Now for the bad part...Wilson Combat is running daily Countdown Deals with new items added daily. They're already in to me for another sharkskin holster, new ETM magazines and steel baseplates (among other goodies).

Worth a look in my opinion, 20% off for some excellent swag.

Jed, ACW has done some extensive work on a few of my 1911s and if I survive the Mayan "Prophecy" and the holidays I've already got several more projects ready for the new year. Fantastic experience and work.

Its new and black, same finish as all their "black" guns. Its the same exact model that pops up on the link you provided. I am just not a professional photographer with my iphone. :)

Not sure if i would consider it a bad part... Did you have an IWB skarkskin? Ive been thinking about a Stingray holster. just not sure of the feel against me.

    A Tag/Heuer Formula 1.
Since that's way out of my price range, a Seiko SKX007 or a bunch of reloading stuff.

Sharkskin IWB on the way. Everything I have for IWB currently is horsehide. Stingray is more often reserved for OWB as it's meant to be seen. Would look knockout good with that new pistol of yours I might add.

I say bad because the money spends easy this time of year. Doubly so at WC's online store.

^Definitely cannot let it be "seen" where I live.. It's more of personal taste, not a statement of any type. Besides it would be for a Beretta and not the WC. Some might view that like putting 5k work of rims and tires on a hoopty. LOL

least your spending money at WC this time of year.. most of mine goes to ToysRus, wallyworld, etc. this time of year...

No disrespect to my friends at Wilson Combat...

....but I prefer the holsters, for all of my handguns ( Sig 226's, 239's,
1911's - S&W K, L and N frame revolvers and single action revolvers... )...from Kramer leather. I prefer Horsehide...and with the forward FBI tilt...but IWB or scabbard...they make some very nice holsters..
