Hi,
Im Tim, im a 15 year old Aussie with a passion for firearms. I dont own a gun, but i go to the local pistol range whenever i can, this is usually once a week or thereabouts. I've fired .22 rugers, 9mm rugers, glock 17 and walter ppk, glock 21, .45 rugers, .44 ruger, .357 ruger, .22 rifle cant remember what make and some old shotgun, dont ask. My overall grouping isnt bad, although some might say otherwise:p. Of the weapons ive used my personal weapon of choice is the glock 21 because i feel most comfortable with the size of round and generally how it feels. When it comes to firearms im fairly inexperienced, but i hope that will change! :D

That's funny...I posted my "Welcome aboard!" as a reply to his message...and now its the first post in the thread?!!?

Stayed tuned and welcome, your level of firearms wisdom may increase but so will your level of confusion.:D

Welcome. :)

Welcome. Enjoy.
BTW, I thought the line is "Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste".

Crikey,

Another Aussie?

Will wonders never cease?

Welcome Lestat, welcome.

I had to get out my old Atlas to see just where in the world down under you are.

Good to hear you can still shoot handguns like the Glock 21. It sounds like you may be one of the last generations down there to enjoy that little bit of freedom. Cherish the moments.

Keep us posted on goings on relative to your country's firearm legislation at your level would ya?

There's another couple of Aussies floating around in here somewhere and since I look forward to their contributions, I'm sure you too, will fit right in.

G'day

Adios

Well, if the proposed handgun laws go ahead in the coming 6 months or so, we'll be the LAST generation to enjoy said freedom.
:(

The restrictions that have been proposed are:

Nothing larger than 9x19mm.
No barrel lengths shorter than 5 inches.
No magazine capacities greater than 10 rounds.

:cuss: :fire: :cuss:

Not only will these restrictions (carried out using the infamous "buyback" scheme) cost the government millions and millions of dollars, they won't have ANY impact on crime, which they are supposedly being introduced FOR... :scrutiny:

In addition, along with our other draconian firearms laws, these new restrictions will contribute to the destruction of the hobby and passion of thousands of people across Australia. :barf:

btw, Lestat / Tim, above, is my younger brother. :)

welcome...

It's a great place to learn about firearms, the do's and dont's..we all have our opinions, some you will like and others you may like a little less (the opinions,i mean) Have fun while you are here...

welcome Tim! it's folks like you who give the rest of us hope that the whole world wont end up enslaved - believe it or not!. I'd just like to encourage you to ask questions, especially if there's stuff here you don't understand...or for that matter if there's other firearms related stuff you don't understand.

You need to be a little careful 'cause some of us older political types get a little cranky from time to time [except for me of course  ] but that's nothing to worry about too much, we usually get over it.
